All new vehicles of the AIXAM range are guaranteed for a period of 24 months from the date of delivery to the customer, against any defect relating to material, fitting or manufacturing fault. Any spare part or accessory sold by AIXAM is guaranteed for a period of 12 months from the date of invoicing to the customer against any defects or manufacturing flaws. 2. To benefit of the AIXAM guarantee: - The user manual should be filled in with the vehicle’s identification, the name and address of the user as well as the stamp of the authorized agent. - The guarantee is recorded on the Internet by the AIXAM authorized distributor on the day of purchase. 3. The guarantee can be requested from any authorized distributor of the AIXAM network. The customer shall present his user manual bearing the stamp of the vehicle’s seller, the date of delivery to the customer and the stamp of the AIXAM authorized distributor having carried out the maintenance and checks between 500 and 1 000 km, foreseen by the manufacturer. 4. To be covered under warranty, the customer shall be able to justify the proper maintenance of its vehicle as per the Manufacturer recommendations defined in the below section MAINTENANCE PROGRAM. In addition, the customer shall bring in his vehicle between 500 and 1 000 km to his authorized AIXAM distributor who will carry out for free (except consumables and small supplies) the checking, regulating, tightening foreseen by the manufacturer at that mileage. After performing the work on the vehicle, the authorized AIXAM distributor will stamp the corresponding box below, and indicate the date and the exact mileage. 5. This warranty covers the cost of repair or replacement of defective parts to repair a material, assembly or manufacturing defect recognised by the manufacturer when carried out by a member of the AIXAM Network. Expenses on the spot of repair or towing are not included. 6. Interventions performed under warranty will not result in a prolongation of the duration of it. Nevertheless, the use of guarantee extends the delay during period equal to that necessary for the realisation of the sole works performed under the guarantee, provided that the said works inevitably require an immobilisation of the vehicle for at least 7 consecutive days (Law of January 18th, 1992 – Art. 4) 7. The manufacturer is by right owner of documents deposited for guarantee. 3 GENERAL TERMS OF GUARANTEE (continued) 8. The warranty does not cover: • Any parts and equipment that are not genuine AIXAM parts • The maintenance procedures, including equalizing and wheels alignment settings; the engine and headlights settings, the replacement of glow plugs, of spark plugs, bulbs, belts, transmission belts, the parts needed for the maintenance of regulators, brake disc pads and linings, brake discs and drums, lubricants and liquids. • The damages and breakdowns caused by: - Incorrect use, accident, theft, fire, vandalism, - Industrial fallouts, acids, alkaline, chemical, resins, bird droppings, salt, hail, storm, lightning and others, - The non-respect of the maintenance program at the dates foreseen, - A badly performed intervention, - Interventions out of the AIXAM network, - The use of non-AIXAM approved parts and accessories, - The use of incorrect fuel or lubricant or containing foreign bodies or fuel that does not correspond to that advised, - Overload, even temporary. • The whole vehicle if it has undergone modifications or transformations not approved by the manufacturer, especially when the vehicle no longer corresponds to the approved origin criteria. • The normal wear of any element including muffler, belts and shock absorbers, as well as the wear of linings, seats, paint and embellishers. Any vehicle, the instrument head of which was replaced or changed so that the real mileage cannot be clearly established, among which the serial number or the engine number were corrupted. • The indirect consequences of any fault (including but not limited to loss of business, length of time off the road). 9 Documentations relative to the guarantee, the maintenance and the driving: Every beneficiary of the AIXAM guarantee receives a user’s manual at the delivery of the new vehicle. The application of the terms of guarantee is subordinated to the presentation of the user’s manual. 10. The master cylinder with a brake liquid reservoir in its upper part is controlled from inside the vehicle by a pedal at the driver’s right foot. A limiter allows automatically lessening braking efficiency at the rear end. • Hand brake A lever located within the reach of the driver’s right hand, between the vehicle’s two seats, mechanically activates, through the intermediate of a cross-bar and of two cables, the rear brakes. The adjustment of this brake is mechanical and is performed by a screw at each of the rear wheels or of the cross-bar. Keep one of each in a safe place in case of need. 2 MANUFACTURER’S PLATE The manufacturer’s plate is riveted on the right side rail inner side of the vehicle next to the serial number engraving DELUXE version Two keys are supplied with integrated remote control; pictograms clearly indicate opening and closing procedures. NOTE: In case deficient operating of the remote control, you can always lock and unlock with the keys. 16 LOCKING AND UNLOCKING FROM OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE OPENING THE TAILGATE Pull the handle located under the safety belt on the left inner panel. Raise the tailgate to its maximum position without forcing, the two jacks will hold it open. 2 1 3 1. Insert the key 2. Lock 3. Make sure that it is correctly locked 4 5 17 OPENING THE TAILGATE* *Depending on the version ELECTRIC OPENING: Outside vehicle (remote key) Keep the opening doors button activated for 3 seconds: 2 MECHANINC OPENING: Safety handle In case of failure of the electric doors opening you shall go to the nearest Authorized Workshop. Emergency tailgate opening Open the plastic panel that is used to replace left rear lights. Drivers and passenger doors will immediately unlock maintain the button activated and after 3 seconds the tailgate will open. . ELECTRIC OPENING: Inside vehicle A button is located on the left inner panel behind the safety belt. Activating this button will result in opening the tailgate from inside of the car. 18 Pull the safety handle (blue cable) in order to unlock the tailgate chest. OPENING THE FRONT BONNET CLOSING THE FRONT BONNET Pull the unlocking control located under the dashboard to the left. Lift the bonnet while pressing the safety lock. To hold the bonnet open, insert the bonnet prop in the hole foreseen to that effect. Release the prop and affix it, then lower the bonnet some fifty centimetres and drop it so that it closes under its own weight. 19 CONTROLS FOR OPENING DOOR WINDOWS SEATS AND SAFETY BELTS* ADJUSTING THE FRONT SEATS WINDOW HANDLE Adjust the driver’s seat at a position easily allowing activating the pedals, the wheel and the various dashboard controls. Lift the lever and move the seat frontward or backward up to the desired position. After setting release the lever so that the seat locks in position. ELECTRIC WINDOW The two electric window control switches are located at the bottom of the dashboard’s central facade. The deluxe version is equipped sequential driver window. A long impulsion on the control button controls the automatic complete opening or closing. After unplugging the battery from the vehicle it is necessary to reinitialise the automatic windows control; to do so switch on the contact and activate the window contactor till it is either open or closed and maintain the contactor for another two seconds. 20 HEADREST Press the setting button and lower or lift the headrest to set it to your convenience. WARNING: - Set the seat before taking the road - After setting, check that the seat is effectively locked in position REAR BENCH If you wish to fold down the rear bench of your car you must lock the safety belts. During handling, make sure that they cannot get caught or damaged. To lift the rear bench seats, insert your hand towards the safety belt locks, raise the seat and tip it towards the front of the vehicle, then unlock the back of the rear bench with the two locks located in the luggage compartment, lift it and then place it flat behind the seat. If you carry material in the luggage compartment, always make sure that it cannot damage the safety belts. SAFETY BELTS Three-point safety belts with winders This type of belt needs no length adjustment. Once fastened, the belt freely adjusts to the user’s movements, but in case of a strong or brusque jolt, it automatically locks itself to retain the body. Before fastening your safety belt, seat yourself well in the back of your seat, set the seat’s advance according to the pedals. When you put on your safety belt, hold yourself against the back of your seat. The thorax strap should be as close as possible to the neck, without however bearing on it. The basin strap should bear flat on the thighs and against the basin. The belt should bear most directly on the body. Avoid very thick clothing and inserted objects … To fasten the belt, slowly unroll the strap and without jolts and make sure of the bolting in the box. Check the efficient bolting by pulling on the bolt. If there is locking of the strap before the locking, return backwards and unroll again. To unfasten the belt, press the red button on the box, the belt winds back into the reel. Accompany the bolt to facilitate the procedure. 21 SAFETY BELTS • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • 22 Whatever the length and distance of the drive you perform, always fasten your safety belt. Furthermore you should comply with the local legislation of the country where you are. The safety belt was designed to retain a single person. Never place a child on your knees and fasten the safety belt. Do not use devices allowing to introduce free movement into the straps (example: clothes peg, etc) because a safety belt that is too loose, risks causing wounds in the event of an accident. Following a serious accident, it is necessary to replace the safety belts which were in service at the time. Or even if a belt is damaged and shredded, it is imperative to replace it. If you have to clean your safety belts, do it with some soap and water. Any other product is prohibited. Badly adjusted safety belts risk causing wounds in the event of an accident. Pregnant women should use their safety belt. In that case, make sure that the basin strap does not exert too much pressure on the stomach bottom without creating additional clearance. When the belt is used, the straps should not be twisted. Do not move the abdominal strap under your arm or behind your back. Safety belts were designed to be used by occupants having an adult’s size. Do not modify or transform the safety belts or their anchorage on the chassis or the vehicle’s seats. Only use the manufacturer’s origin equipment. Babies and children can in no case be carried on the knees of occupants of the vehicle. It is particularly dangerous to strap a child sitting on your knees. Never use a single belt to hold two persons at the same time. Never leave a child or an animal in a car exposed to sunlight, windows closed. FOR CHILDREN’S SAFETY • Never leave the keys within the reach of children, inside the vehicle. • The use of devices to retain babies and children is regulated. • You must imperatively respect the laws in force in the country you are driving in particularly as concerns the age conditions for the transport of children in the front seats. • Generally, children under 12 years, under 1.50 metres tall and weighing under 36 kilos, should be attached on an authorized device, adapted to the weight and size of the child. • The driver is responsible of the correct use of these devices. • It is thus advised to select an authorized device according to European regulation EEC 44. • Such devices obligatorily include an orange label with the letter E followed by a number, that of the country where it is authorized and the year of authorization. • Before using a child’s seat, push back the passenger seat to the maximum. Comply with the seat manufacturer’s specifications (see the operating instructions supplied with the seat). Fuel indicator gauge The fuel level display is of bar graph type (6 bars) as the fuel level lowers in the reservoir, the bars disappear. 1 The minimum fuel is displayed when the last bar blinks and the indicator (1 of previous page) lights up. In this case fill up with fuel as quickly as possible. 2. Gear selection indicator Indication of the gear engaged (forward, neutral, reverse). Coupled with the neutral position, an indicator (2 of the previous page) lights up. 3. General or partial mileage totaliser (version with a single digital screen located on the left of the dashboard) Display of the vehicle’s total mileage: To obtain the display of the daily mileage, lightly press button (17 of the previous page). To reset to zero the daily totaliser lightly press the same button for a few seconds. To return to the general totaliser lightly press the same button, and in the same way to return to the daily totaliser. (Version with two digital screens, one on the right and one on the left of the dashboard) • Partial mileage totaliser: display of the daily mileage. • A maintenance indicator will allow you to foresee the moment when the maintenance of your vehicle will have to be carried out. Two parameters will enter in the calculation to foresee your next revision: the time and the mileage. Examples: 1000 km or 1 year, 5000 km or 1 year. This indicator will display the distance remaining before the next revision for 5 seconds after having switched on the ignition as well as the “key” symbol marker 4. If the distance term is reached or passed, the “key” symbol and the mileage and the " -" sign will blink for 5 display seconds and the “key” symbol will remain displayed. If the time length is reached the “key” symbol and the "1 year" message blink for 5 seconds and the “key” symbol will remain displayed. To have your car quickly revised we advise you to make an appointment with your authorized distributor. * According to version 25 DASHBOARD* (continued) VERSION WITH DIGITAL SCREEN ON THE RIGHT 5 6 5. The clock: The clock’s settings can only be done vehicle stopped. This setting is done according to the following procedure: 7 • Press button 12 for three seconds (see page 25) and the hours will flash. • Press by impulsion on the same button to set the hours. Terminate the setting of the hours by a long press. • Proceed in the same way as for the hours to set the tenths of minutes and the minutes. To exit the setting system terminate with a long press 6. Temperature indicator: It flashes when the temperature nears 3 degrees to indicate a risk of black ice. 7. Total mileage totaliser Setting of the dashboard’s brightness When the vehicle’s lighting system is switched off the dashboard’s brightness cannot be set. At night once the vehicle’s lighting operates, you can set the intensity of the dashboard’s lighting. To do so, briefly press several times button 12 (see page 25). The brightness will intensify at each impulsion to arrive at its maximum and return to its minimum. * According to version 26 DASHBOARD* (continued) MEANING OF THE INDICATORS Battery’s charge indicator: It lights on the ignition position and should switch off when the engine starts. If it lights up in permanence quickly contact the AIXAM network. Engine oil pressure indicator: It lights up in the ignition position and should imperatively switch off as soon as the engine starts. If it lights up while driving, stop the engine immediately. Check your oil level and complete if necessary. If it remains lit in spite of a correct oil level, stop your engine and quickly contact the AIXAM network. Cooling liquid temperature alarm indicator: It lights up in the ignition position and should switch off as soon as the engine starts. If it lights up while driving, stop immediately. Wait 30 minutes before checking the cooling liquid level (risks of serious burns). If it lights up again contact the AIXAM network. Parking brake and brake liquid level indicator: Lit, it indicates that your hand brake is not released or that there lacks brake liquid in the brake circuit. Complete the level with the advised liquid (see page 16). Front brake disc pad wear indicator: It lights up when you brake check or change your front brakes disc pads as soon as possible. High speed By pulling the lever towards you, you activate the windscreen washer. Operates at the opening of doors. When opening a door, the interior lighting lights up progressively and remains lit for 30 seconds. When closing a door or following the ignition, the lighting remains lit for 10 seconds while progressively switching off. HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS Controls simultaneously and in permanence the four direction lights. Use only in case of danger. When the vehicle is running, following a brutal deceleration (case of brutally braking) the warning lights activate automatically for 10 seconds * According to version 29 REVERSING GEAR D NEW The gearbox lever is equipped with a plug to activate the gear change N = Neutral point R D = Forward drive R = Reverse drive To select the desired gear: 1. Press the lever while advancing it. Example, to pass from reverse drive to forward drive or to pass from neutral point to forward drive. 2. Simply pull the lever toward the rear, to pass from forward drive to neutral point. 3. Press on the lever and pull towards you to engage the reverse drive. To select a gear, it is imperative that: - the vehicle is completely immobilized - that the engine is at idle speed 30 1 2 To move forward or backward: - Lift the ring 1 - Push the lever to the desired direction - Release the ring once the gear selected 2 Never switch from drive to reverse without lifting the ring. Failure to this procedure would result in permanent damage to your vehicle. PARKING BRAKE 1. To put on the brake, completely pull the lever without pressing the button at the end of the lever. 2. To remove it, lightly pull the lever, while pressing the button and lowering the lever. INTERIOR REAR-VIEW MIRROR The lever located in the lower part is used to reduce the dazzle of headlights of following vehicles when driving at night 1. Normal 2. The performance of the heating appliance directly depends on the temperature of the cooling liquid. It is thus advisable to only use the heating when the engine has reached its normal operating temperature. In cold weather, it is useless to start the engine and to let it run at idle speed for several minutes before driving for the heating does not operate at idle speed. 1. Switch the fins to stop the flow. 32 CIGAR LIGHTER, ASHTRAY ASHTRAY The ashtray is of nomad type; it can be removed and placed elsewhere. WARNING: When emptying the ashtray, make sure there are no incandescent ashes that could start a fire. CIGAR LIGHTER Completely push the cigar lighter. It is ready to be used when it comes back to normal position by issuing a click. Pull the lighter out of its housing to use it. WARNING: - Hold the cigar lighter by the button; do not touch the metal jacket (risk of burns) - Do not use a non origin cigar lighter (risk of fire) - If the cigar lighter does not come out after 30 seconds, it is defective: quickly remove it (risk of fire). RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BREAKING IN For the breaking in period of the first 1000 kilometres, drive the vehicle by respecting the following precautions, so as to ensure a long service life, with economical driving and a good level of performance. • Do not drive the vehicle at high speed. • Avoid quick starts, accelerations, too frequent braking. Note that the speeds indicated by road signs must be respected. 33 FUEL IGNITION CONTROL OF THE STARTER THE FUEL TO USE Diesel engine vehicle: gas oil hexadecane index (DIN 51601). Petrol engine vehicle: unleaded petrol 95-98. WARNING: when you fill in the tank of your car, please be very careful that the fuel does not come in contact with the car body elements. If this should happen, we advise you to immediately spray the parts concerned with running water and then dry it with a soft cloth. SUPPLYING 1. Stop the engine before filling the tank 2. Remove the tank’s stopper after having unlocked it 3. Insert the nozzle and fill the tank 4. After the first automatic interruption of the nozzle, do not continue to fill more than 5 seconds. 5. Remove the nozzle 6. Put the stopper back and lock it. Warning: fuel is a flammable and explosive product. Keep away from flames and do not smoke. 34 STEERING LOCK To unlock the steering, slightly turn the wheel while turning the key without forcing. ACCESSORIES CONTACT Contact is on. Do not leave it in this position when the engine is stopped. Possible discharge of the battery. STARTER Starts once the key in this position STARTING AND STOPPING THE ENGINE • First check that the parking brake is tightened and that the inverter lever is on neutral. • Bring the key on the “contact” position and wait till the preheating indicator switches off. • Start the engine by putting the key in the “starter” position. Release the key. Do not accelerate during this procedure or lightly in very cold weather. • To stop the engine, bring the key in the “locked” position. DRIVING ADVICE Before starting, check: - The correct setting of rear-view mirrors - The adjustment of your seat - The fuel level Fasten and adjust your safety belt. Drive with a single foot to avoid stepping on both pedals (brake and accelerator at the same time), which corresponds to accelerating and braking at the same time, thus premature wear of brakes and all the transmission organs. Voluntarily limit your speed in descents. If you try to climb on a sidewalk, only do it on lowered parts, otherwise you risk upsetting the front axel assembly and entailing the premature wear of tyres. The roof bars of the Crossline vehicle are trim and are not made to carry loads. In case non application of these instructions, the responsibility of AIXAM-MEGA cannot be engaged for any deterioration or accident generated by the carrying of any object on the roof of a Crossline. CAR BODY MAINTENANCE WARNING Chemical products can be dangerous. Some are toxic; others catch fire near a flame or if one uses them on a part of the vehicle that is still hot. In badly ventilated premises, the inhalation of vapours of certain substances may entail uneasiness or intoxication. For all chemical products, read the instructions on the can before use. Open doors and windows while using these products indoors. The following products are not advised for the maintenance of the vehicle: - Petrol - Benzene - Naphtha - Acetone - Carbon tetrachloride - Paint diluents - Turpentine - Varnish diluents - Nail polish diluents - Etc…. These products are dangerous and risk damaging the vehicle. CLEANING THE CAR INTERIOR - Dust the interior with a vacuum cleaner. - Clean plastic elements with soap and. - For the seats and carpets, use the products found on the market for that use. 35 SPARE TYRE CLEANING THE CAR BODY Rapidly wash the vehicle if it is exposed to stains susceptible of favouring corrosion notably: - Seawater, chemical products used to de-ice roads in winter. - Soot and dust, iron powder in factory smoke, chemical products (acid substances, basics, tars, etc…). - Bird droppings, debris of insects, tree resins, etc… WASHING - Only use water and liquid soap. - Avoid doing it in full sunlight or if it is freezing. - Do not pass the vehicle in automatic washing stations with brushes. - Do not use a high pressure cleaner CLEANING THE WINDOWS Clean the windows with soap and water or with a special cleaner for glass taking care that it does not touch the car body. 36 This vehicle is equipped with a spare tyre under the luggage compartment in a basket. Inside it is a box containing the jack. The wrench for removing tyres is fixed under the right seat. TO CHANGE A TYRE IN CAS OF PUNCTURE - Place the vehicle on flat and resistant ground. - Put on the parking brake (use wedges if necessary). - Take the wrench under the right seat and loosen the spare wheel basket (bolt located at the entrance of the luggage compartment). - Remove the spare tyre and the jack from its box. - With the wrench remove the 4 nuts from the wheel. - Place the jack under the car making sure that it is positioned on the outer side rail and not under the flooring. - Lift the vehicle by turning the handle so that the tyre is above the ground by a few centimetres. - Remove the tyre’s nuts. - Remove the tyre. - Place the spare tyre by proceeding in reverse sense and locking the nuts after having lowered the vehicle. - Put the damaged wheel in the basket and affix it correctly. - Have the damaged tyre rapidly repaired and check the inflating pressure. CONDITION OF TYRES BATTERY The battery is located under the engine’s bonnet. ATTACHMENT SCREW PRESSURE AND INFLATION OF TYRES (BAR) The life expectancy of a battery is closely linked to external factors (driving conditions, electric equipment, weather conditions…) In extreme cases (e.g. while driving less than 10km) the battery will not be enough charged from the normal use of the vehicle. In such a case you shall plug your battery on a charger that can be ordered from your Authorised Repairer CITY AND CROSSLINE TYRES 155 / 65 R 14 145 / 70 R 13 FRONT REAR SPARE 1.6 1.6 1.7 Would you like to charge your battery, you should imperatively remove it from the car and charge it in ventilated premises. 37 ABS braking system Your vehicle may be equipped with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) that allows you to keep control of your vehicle regardless of grip conditions. An Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) is also integrated and will manage permanently the distribution of the braking power between rear and front brakes. Upon activation of the ABS a vibration is felt at the brake pedal. This vibration is normal and due to the operation of the system. The use of ABS should not lead to non-compliance of the Highway Code especially regarding safety distance between two vehicles. Two signals on the dashboard will display the status of your braking system. ABS warning signal: it turns on at ignition and turns off a few seconds later to ensure the system is operational. If this light turns on while driving, you shall go to the nearest Authorized Repairer as your ABS is facing a minor failure. ABS & Braking warning signals: if these two signals light up simultaneously your braking system is facing a major failure. ABS and EBD functions are deactivated You shall stop your vehicle as soon as possible and call your nearest Authorized Repairer. 38 Air Conditioning functionning: Turn the ventilation button to the desired speed (a). Switch the A/C on (b). Adjust the air recirculation so as to optimize the AC/ efficiency (c). The air recirculation may also be used to improve the heating efficiency or to prevent from external pollution like before entering a tunnel. Be aware, turning the recirculation on to the MAX position may generate condensation on the windows inside the car mainly on the windscreen. The air conditioning shall be revised every two years. 39 DIRECTIONS OF USAGE: You shall park the vehicle in the shade to lower the need for air conditioning to cool the vehicle. Before switching on the cooling system, you should open the windows to evacuate the maximum heat and then close them as soon as the A/C is turned on. Do not orientate the vents directly to the head to prevent sore throat. You shall switch the A/C on, at least 15 minutes per week, whatever the outside temperature, to ensure a correct lubrication of the system, limit the cooling fluid leaks and keep the A/C in proper order. WARNING To operate on an A/C system that contains refrigerant and especially to open or to drain it, any technician must have a specific habilitation and its workshop must be homologated to operate on A/C systems. It is strictly forbidden to discharge the refrigerant into the atmosphere. The air entering the cabin is cooled and dried by condensation of the moisture it contains. The water is then stocked in the condenser and evacuated by a pipe under the vehicle. Therefore, it is normal to find water flowing under the vehicle when the air conditioning system is in operation. 40 FUSE BOX WARNING: When you replace a fuse, always respect the amperage (risk of fire). Parking light bulb - Pivot the bulb’s support a quarter turn toward the left and remove it. - Remove the bulb by pulling on it to replace it. - Place the bulb support back taking care that the polarizer (one big, one small) are located facing the corresponding notches on the back of the headlight. - Make it pivot a quarter turn to the right by applying pressure so as to pin the joint. 2. Dipped and full beam bulb - Remove the headlight’s cover. To unlock it, press the upper clip and remove it. - Remove the sealing bonnet from the rear of the headlight and by pulling on it, remove the bulb’s socket. 42 - Press the bulb’s locking wire by sliding it to the right and lowering it. - Remove the bulb. - Put the new bulb in place making sure that its pins enter correctly in their housing (do not touch the glass part of the bulb with the fingers). - Put the locking wire back and press on it while making it slide to the left. - Reposition the sealing bonnet on the bulb’s socket. - Insert the bonnet on the headlight’s rear part. - ATTENTION: take great care in doing the two previous procedures, otherwise water will penetrate in the headlight and damage it. - Insert the protection cover on the bonnet taking care that the notch allowing the passage of the electric bundle is quite vertical, otherwise the clip cannot engage and you risk losing the cover. 3. Direction lights - Pivot the bulb support a quarter turn to the left and remove it. - Press on the bulb while pivoting it to the left and remove it. - Place the new bulb on the support by aligning its pins facing the notches of the support, press on it while making it pivot to the right. - Put the bulb support back on the headlight by positioning its polarizer (one big, one average, one small) facing the headlight’s notches. - Press on the bulb’s support and make it pivot a quarter turn to the right. REPLACING A FOG LIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT OF A REAR LIGHT BULB 1 2 3 - Open the tailgate - Move aside the lining of the back quarter light - Unblock the connector - Remove it and change the bulb 1. Rear light and stop light bulb 2. Bulb of flickering light 3. Reverse drive light 4. Rear fog light bulb 4 - - Remove the bulb’s support by making it pivot to the left. The bulb is an integral part of the support. Place the bulb’s support back taking care that the attachment pins correspond to those at the rear of the headlight and make it pivot to the right. REPLACING THE BULB OF INTERIOR LIGHTING Unclip the dome light’s interior lighting to replace the bulb. 43 EVERY 5000 km, ENGINE OIL DRAIN ENGINE OIL ENGINE OIL LEVEL 1 All engines consume a certain quantity of oil. It is thus important to check the oil level at regular intervals or before a long trip. Do the check while the engine is warm and stopped. Park the vehicle on a flat surface and stop the engine. Wait a moment to allow the oil to go back to the oil carter, so as to measure the exact quantity. Remove the gauge and wipe it with a clean cloth. Put it back by pushing it at maximum. Then remove it and read the quantity of oil appearing between the two marks. If the oil level is inferior to the maximum limit, remove the filling cap (1) and complete it with the specified oil (page 16). Efficiently close the filling cap. 44 2 - The engine should be warm - Remove the filling cap "1". - Remove the draining cap "2" and let the oil drain. - Replace the drain joint. - - Tighten the drain cap. - Fill with engine oil according to quantity (page 16) - Check that the level is correct with the oil gauge. - Correctly close the filling cap. INVERSING UNIT OIL "5" filling cap INVERSING UNIT OIL (continued) COOLING LIQUID - Must be done engine cold so as to avoid burns. - The cooling liquid should cover the radiator’s upper grid. 3.
