The 2017 Vanquish S builds upon the style and performance of our Super GT offering a different proposition to the new DB11. Key areas of improvement focuses around: • Uprated Engine Power • Improved Dynamics • New Exterior Styling • New Interior Feature Content VANQUISH S HISTORY Project Vantage V12 Vanquish V12 Vanquish S V12 Vanquish V12 Vanquish S 1998 2001 - 2004 2004-2007 2012-2016 2016 - Current Unveiled in January 1998 at the Detroit Motor Show, the Project Vantage thrust AML back into the world supercar spotlight. The V12 Vanquish was Designed by Ian Callum, and remained extremely faithful to the Project Vantage although every panel is subtly different. The 'new' Vanquish was formally announced on the June 20th 2012, replacing DBS as our ultimate Super Grand Tourer. The 'new' Vanquish S builds upon the Vanquish bringing all new styling, power and dynamics. It was initially built as a one-off Derwent Green prototype but the reaction from the press and public was so positive that we decided to build the car. We didn’t know at the time, but Project Vantage was our very first view of the legendary V12 Vanquish. It’s 6.0 litre V12 engine was developed from the DB7 Vantage with new design inlet manifolds, camshafts, valve gear, crankshaft and exhaust system. Power increased to 460 bhp giving a top speed of 190 mph and acceleration to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. The V12 Vanquish S was launched at the Paris Salon, in September 2004. Offering improved power and dynamics vs the 2001 Vanquish it re-established the Vanquish as the ultimate Aston Martin by introducing a clear performance differential to DB9. The Vanquish S was the last ever car to be built at the Tickford Works in Newport Pagnell and as such, will always be considered one of the greatest Aston Martins of all time. The body evolved significantly from the DBS and took many design queues from the One-77. It was the first production series Aston Martin with all the outer body panels formed of carbon fibre. The 6.0L V12 engine was re-engineered to deliver increased power over the DBS to 565 bhp. New exterior features include a revised carbon fibre splitter/ diffuser featuring quad tail pipes. Revised inlet manifolds taking learnings from the Vantage GT12, increase power to 595 bhp.
