Boot Id does not attempt to power cbse when t he boot cbse switch (bcated on the insde of the boot Id) is pressed.
Technical background
In the event the power boot does not attempt to cbse when the boot cbse switch is pressed please check the applK:ability of the model and VIN
shown in t he Productbn change sectbn of this TPI before commencing.
CAUTION: It is imperat ive that no objects of any descriptbn are left near the mechanism, boot Id or hinges when the power boot is in operatb n,

Measure
IMPORTANT: When disconnecting electrtal co nnectbns, switch of all electrta l consumers, switch off ig nitbn and remove ignitbn key

3. Remove the switc h from t he cover panel by pressing in the t wo retaining clips inboard and remove t he switch from the cover pa nel (Fig ure 1)

4.Reco nnect t he switch t o th e electrta l co nn ect b n (Figu re 2) albwing t he switc h to hang in free air

cbse the switch is servi'.:eabk=, you shouid now proceed with procedure 6 NOTE: shouid the boot not start to cbse proceed to procedure 5
5.The resistance of the switch must now be measured and recorded using a suitabk= multimeter. Pease fo lbw the procedures bebw
- Sek=ct Q (Ohms) on the multimeter
- Measure the resistance between pins 2 and 3 (Fgure 3) The button on the boot cbse switch must be pressed and heid in otherwise a correct
reading will not be obtained
IMPORTANT: The measurement shouid now be recorded in the warranty cli3im comments box when cli3iming for a new switch.
The resistance for a fulty servi'.:eabk= switch when operated (pressed) is 0.2 Ohms

6.Before refitting the existing or new switch it is essential that the switch fits into the cover without any excessive resistance, shouid there be any
burrs or jagged edges around the aperture (Fgure 4) you shouid carefulty smooth away any burrs or jagged edges using fine sandpaper taking care
not to enlarge the aperture

7 .Refit the switch into the aperture ensuring correct orien tation and the two clips are fully bcked into position
-Check that the Btch cover clips are centrally positio ned befo re refitting the Btch cover (Fgure 5)
