Multifunction Instrument Display adapted to individual character design for Drive modes. The Rear-View Camera allows you to view the area behind the car in the Control Display while manoeuvring and parking. The Rear-View Camera enhances visibility when reversing at speeds below 20 km/h. Preparation for Apple CarPlay®1, 2 supports the convenient and wireless use of selected iPhone® functions in the vehicle. This allows smartphone content and functions such as music, iMessages/text messages, telephony, Siri and selected third-party apps to be displayed and operated via the vehicle’s user interface and via voice control. Apps available on Apple CarPlay® is dependent on country specific offer by Apple. 2The compatibility and range of functions from Apple CarPlay® depend on the model year and the software installed on the iPhone®. When the Apple CarPlay® preparation is used, selected vehicle data is transferred to the phone. You’ll feel safe and protected, no matter where your journey takes you. 33 34 35 Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Cornering Brake Control (CBC) and Brake Assist, recognises the risk of skidding before it occurs and stabilises the car within milliseconds. The traction mode sub-function (DTC) allows increased wheel slip to optimise acceleration in certain driving conditions and to enable more dynamic driving. The occupant cell of a BMW vehicle is extremely rigid, with bodyshell components made of multi-phase steel and special reinforcements maintaining a protective frame around the cabin in the event of an accident. At the same time, the reversible deformation elements in the Rigid Passenger Cell absorbs the force of an impact at speeds up to 15 km/h, leaving the bodyshell completely undamaged. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) is a sub-function of the Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) system. When the drivers want a sportier driving style, the DTC can be activated by pressing a button and this allows more slip and reduces the DSC’s curbing of the engine. The result: better traction and more thrust. The reinforced side walls prevent the Runflat Tyres from completely collapsing or loosening from the rim if the air pressure suddenly drops due to tyre damage. This enables you to keep control of your vehicle and continue driving for longer, till you can safely make it to your destination. The Intelligent Airbag System is equipped with a two-stage gas generator. In a more severe impact, they inflate to their fullest level with minimum time delay, providing maximum protection for the occupants. However, when the accident is less severe, they allow for a slightly longer delay before deployment. The Adaptive LED headlights produce a light colour very similar to daylight and adjust their light distribution automatically according to speed and steering angle. 36 M SPORT.
