An on/off switch on the centre console allows you to disable your SRX’s standard traction control system when a certain amount of wheelspin is required, such as when “rocking” the vehicle in deep snow. If so desired, the standard StabiliTrakTM electronic stability control system can also be disabled by pressing the traction control switch for a period of 5 seconds. The available all-wheel-drive system adjusts automatically to provide excellent performance in transitions between high- and low-traction surfaces. It generates 320 horsepower and 315 lb.-ft. of torque. Willing performance is an integral part of the SRX experience, thanks to a choice of high-tech engines as refined as they are powerful. SRX V6 models feature a sophisticated 3.6-litre DOHC engine paired with an electronically controlled 5-speed automatic transmission, while the SRX V8 is powered by Cadillac’s renowned 4.6-litre Northstar V8 teamed with a sophisticated 6-speed automatic. Both engines are state-of-the-art powerplants which include such highlights as Variable Valve Timing (VVT), electronic throttle control and an Engine Control Module (ECM) with dual microprocessors. At the transition zone, the lower A-pillars and a magnesium cross beam in the instrument panel help to diffuse energy around the passenger compartment. 4.
