Ducato Ambulance. ENGINES The Ducato now comes with a new range of engines that meet the stringent Euro 6 anti-pollution standards and suit every type of job, while delivering excellent performance and low fuel consumption. All the diesel engines are equipped with refined, second-generation MultiJet2 technology and a Gear Shift Indicator, which prompts you to change gear at the optimum moment for maximum fuel efficiency. All the Ducato’s manual gearboxes are 6-speed units, with specific gear ratios for the Maxi range. You can also specify the 130, 150 and 180 MultiJet2 engines with the Comfort-Matic 6-speed robotised gearbox, which has two modes (sequential and automatic) to suit every driving style. And the UP button enhances gear shifts with the vehicle at full load or during uphill driving, by automatically recognising the optimum engine speed. ECOJET Now there’s a new EcoJet version too, which is setting the standard in emissions and fuel economy. This version is equipped with a high-tech package including Start&Stop, Smart Alternator, electro-hydraulic power steering and an ECO function, which you can switch on at the touch of a button on the dashboard. All the main areas of the vehicle incorporate improved design and construction, to make the body and moving parts more rugged, reliable and long-lasting. The suspension has been perfected to minimise noise in the long term. The braking systems have been developed and upgraded, to enhance their performance and durability while reducing noise levels. And driver comfort has been enhanced too, thanks to the new pedal set designed for effortless driving. Clutch durability has been optimised, to cope with the most demanding applications. The short ratios on the Maxi range with 180 HP MultiJet2 engine and the new hydraulic actuator on the 2.3-litre MultiJet2 engines were designed to increase component service-life. The electrical system significantly extends bulb life and takes care of the devices connected to it, thanks to pulse-width modulation technology. The new styling gives a sense of ruggedness and reliability right from the start. It was designed to enhance the key performance areas for a commercial vehicle, with special attention to serviceability. Innovative headlights fitted on runners make it easy to replace bulbs, and the new panel below the windscreen protects the engine bay from the external environment. That’s why all the dynamic vehicle control and driver assistance systems on the Ducato Conversion are directly accessible from the driving seat. What’s more, the infotainment systems can be managed directly from the steering wheel, thus minimising distractions for the driver. And the dashboard has plenty of free space for the installation and control of external devices forming part of the conversion. 18 19 MULTIMEDIA Bluetooth® radio UCONNECT™ NAV radio When you’re hard at work, it’s vital to be able to interact with your instruments easily and effectively. That’s why all the infotainment devices, safety systems and driver aids are designed for easy access from the driver’s seat. All the radios are equipped with Bluetooth® for hands-free phone calls, and you can specify a DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) receiver as an option. The Uconnect™ Radio, with CD player and steering-wheel-mounted controls, is equipped with a 5” colour touchscreen for handling radio stations, phone calls and text messages, and display view from the rear camera, where fitted. The voice recognition interface makes it even easier to deal with phone calls and read text messages, and with the Bluetooth® audio streaming function you can share music in wireless mode. The Uconnect™ Radio is also available with built-in sat nav and TomTom software complete with TMC receiver for traffic information, IQ Routes to find the quickest way to where you’re going and a database of fixed speed cameras (depending on market). 20 21 LATEST-GENERATION SAFETY TRACTION+ Traction+ is the innovative traction control system that improves traction on the most challenging, low-grip surfaces. If one of the drive wheels loses traction, the control unit detects slippage, brakes the wheel and sends torque to the wheel with most grip. This gets you out of trouble more easily, and gives you the best possible driveability and directional stability. HILL DESCENT CONTROL Allows you to tackle downhill driving on gradients of up to 50% without using the brake pedal or accelerator, so that you can focus all your attention on the steering. Ducato has become a by-word for topclass safety and performance. Because the Ducato is equipped with all the most advanced control and safety technology. LANE DEPARTURE WARNING SYSTEM (LDWS) The Lane Departure Warning System can detect if your vehicle is drifting out of lane, even in low-visibility conditions. In the event of danger, an audible and visual signal alerts the driver immediately. Not available on the Ducato Chassis Cowl. TRAFFIC SIGNS RECOGNITION (TSR) Using the on-board camera, the TSR assists the driver by recognising speed limit and overtaking signs and reproducing them on the on-board display. Not available on the Ducato Chassis Cowl. HIGH BEAM RECOGNITION Switches automatically between dipped and full-beam headlights, thereby increasing visibility and reducing the risk of dazzle when driving at night, by recognising vehicles travelling in the opposite direction. Not available on the Ducato Chassis Cowl. RAIN AND DUSK SENSOR The rain sensor switches the wipers on and adjusts their speed according to how hard it’s raining. The dusk sensor automatically switches on dipped headlights when the natural light outside falls below a certain level. CRUISE CONTROL AND SPEED LIMITER Cruise Control enables you to set your cruising speed and keep it constant. The Speed Limiter allows you to set the maximum speed that the vehicle can reach, so as to increase safety and reduce the risk of picking up penalty points. By depressing the accelerator pedal fully, you can temporarily exceed the set limit for specific overtaking manoeuvres. ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC) The ESC cuts in automatically in emergency situations, such as if you have to swerve suddenly to avoid an obstacle. It monitors parameters such as lateral acceleration, speed, grip and steering wheel angle. It processes the data and, if necessary, modulates the torque and braking system to restore perfect stability to the vehicle. ROLL OVER MITIGATION Rollover mitigation is a new support system for the ESC. It prevents rollover risk situations at high speed and reduces roll when cornering at low speed. HILL HOLDER Brakes the vehicle on hill-starts, and stops it rolling backwards without any handbrake input from the driver. It then releases the brake automatically. LOAD ADAPTIVE CONTROL The Load Adaptive Control integrated into the ESCdetects vehicle load conditions, such as weight and centre of gravity. When these parameters change, it calculates new settings and cut-in thresholds and sends them to the ABS, ASR, ESC and Rollover Mitigation functions, so as to maximise their efficiency at all times. TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) Monitors tyre pressure constantly, and indicates any loss of pressure on the on-board display. 22 23 LATEST-GENERATION STYLING The Ducato is city-proof. It has innovative looks, sleek lines and a strong, dynamic character, where style meets functionality in a striking design. It only takes a glance at the bumpers, grille, headlights and body-coloured handles to see that style is of the essence on the Ducato. In fact you can customise every one of these items, to get a vehicle that’s made to measure for you: because it’s the details that make the difference. HEADLIGHTS WITH LED DRLS The optional LED DRLs are located in an area that is protected against knocks, and provide 40% more light efficiency. They are available with black or white bezels for the best match with the grille. 4-SECTION FRONT END The new bumper is made up of three separately removable parts for quick, costeffective maintenance. Its shape ensures the utmost protection. The grille is available in metallic grey or piano black with hot stamping. SKID PLATE A few combinations. The front overhang is short and the bumper is compact, protective and highly efficient, as proven in crash tests (best in class). 24 25 TECHNO DASHBOARD The design of the Ducato’s dashboard puts all the controls and indicators right where you want them. The two trim levels, Classic and Techno, are the perfect match for the style and refinement of the interior and its fabrics, and combine comfort with custom touches. CLASSIC DASHBOARD With its unique design, the multi-purpose holder can hold tablets or smartphones with displays of up to 10”, and pads of paper of various sizes. It’s like having an office right beside you all the time. 26 27 The coolbox keeps food and drinks cool when the air conditioning is running. The dashboard has plenty of storage compartments. The central area has space for bottles (up to 75 cl), a mobile phone compartment and an open storage compartment. The instrument panel is designed to make all the information you need easy to see and read in all driving conditions. Instrument panel with chromed inserts. OPTIONAL Practicality at work, comfortable interiors and firstclass vision from the cab: choose the Ducato Double seat with folding table. Front passengers can have either individual seats or, thanks to the spacious cab, a two-seater bench with a central backrest section that folds down into a handy table. Both configurations offer 3-point seat belts and individual headrests. Tachograph. A Continental VDO Automotive – DTCO 1381 tachograph is offered as either standard or optional equipment, depending on version. options that match your needs. Heated seats. To cope with the coldest climates, you can heat the front seats at the touch of a button, for top-level comfort and optimum battery use. Sprung seats. A system of springs and hydraulic dampers damps vibrations and keeps the seat comfortable even on the most rutted surfaces. Damping levels are adjustable to driver weight (from 40 kg to 130 kg). Automatic climate control system. Every version of the Ducato can be equipped with automatic climate control. The display in the dashboard’s central console provides all the information you need and automatically controls cab temperature, air flow and distribution, compressor start-up and recirculation, according to set temperature and environmental conditions. So the temperature in the cab remains constant regardless of how much it changes outside. Seat casing. The casings conceal the seat supports and the storage compartments below the front seats. Webasto. Thanks to the programmable Webasto Thermo Top “C” heater, you can warm your vehicle up as much as 24 hours before you start your journey. You can use the system instantaneously too, to warm the cab and engine and de-ice the windows. The system is entirely independent of the engine. The Webasto heater is also available in an automatic version without timer. 30 31 OPTIONAL Reflective windscreen. There’s an optional windscreen with a double layer of Solex glass, containing metal oxides, which significantly reduces the penetration of UV rays into the cab, thus improving interior comfort. It also helps minimise fuel consumption on sunny days, by reducing the use of the climate control compressor. LED DRLs. You can spot a Ducato at once from its LED daytime running lights. What’s more, LEDs last longer than normal bulbs and reduce fuel consumption because they use less electricity. Headlight washer. The high-pressure jets on the Ducato’s retractable headlight washers keep your headlights clean at all times, so you can see better and stay safer. The optional fog lights are installed at the bottom of the front bumper for maximum efficiency and protection. Electric adjustable and folding door mirrors. The Ducato’s double-parabola door mirrors combine a panoramic rear view with the utmost practicality, because you can adjust them and fold them away from inside the cab. Both parabolas are independently adjustable to meet the needs of every user. Air suspension. The adjustable air suspension keeps the vehicle’s chassis geometry constant in all load conditions. And with the vehicle stationary, you can increase or decrease the ground clearance to facilitate loading.
