(instrument panel.) The location on the vehicle. Wear eye protection. Wear heavy gloves. Use an assistant. Place the part on a blanket. Work perpendicular. Remove any burrs. Use touch-up paint and allow to dry. Tighten to the specified torque. Apply firm pressure while rolling, especially at the ends, to set the adhesive. Press firmly. Clean with isopropyl alcohol. Return the original part to the customer. (Do not reuse.) FRONT ROOF CARRIER KEY 2. KEY (Turn 90° counterclockwise to unlock.) Install the cushions. LABEL 2 SLOT COVERS RIGHT REAR CUSHION (identification mark: RR-R) LEFT REAR CUSHION (identification mark: RR-L) LABEL IDENTIFICATION MARK: FRONT LEFT RIGHT FRONT CUSHION (identification mark: FR-R) LEFT FRONT CUSHION (identification mark: FR-L) Line up with the end of the roof carrier bar. CUSHION (top surface) IDENTIFICATION MARK 3. Install the slot covers. NOTE Cut-off the excess slot cover material if needed. 4. Loosen the socket bolts. Loosely tighten the socket bolts. ROOF CARRIER 2 SOCKET BOLTS CENTER 2 OUTER CLAMPS RECESSED MARK (On vehicle.) 2 OUTER CLAMPS LABEL WRENCH OUTER CLAMP SECTION VIEW CUSHION ROOF LABEL ROOF 2 SOCKET BOLTS CENTER 4 SOCKET BOLTS 2 OUTER CLAMPS 5. WRENCH RECESSED MARK (On vehicle.) 2 OUTER CLAMPS 7. 4 OUTER CLAMPS WRENCH (Turn until you hear a clicking sound.) Secure the roof carriers. Position the roof carriers. NOTE Make sure to check the labels before installation. 6 of 8 BII19646-10 (2205) © 2022 American Honda Motor Co., Inc. – All Rights Reserved. www.collegehillshonda.com Germain Honda of College Hills NOTE Check for play or rattle by rocking in all directions. • Make sure that there are no gaps between the roof and cushions. • Tighten the left and right socket bolts alternately to evenly distribute the pressure. • Tighten the left and right socket bolts until you hear a clicking sound. 8. Ensure the roof carriers are firmly secured. NOTE • Make sure that there are no gaps between the roof and cushions. • Rock the roof carriers in all directions to check if they are installed securely without play or rattle. • If the roof carriers have abnormal play or rattle, retighten the socket bolts, or reinstall the roof carriers as described in these installation instructions. ROOF CARRIER OUTER CLAMP SECTION VIEW CUSHION 9. ROOF Install the covers. Locked COVER (identification mark inside cover: FR-L) Pull the cover back and forth to confirm it is locked. KEY KEY (Turn 90° clockwise to lock.) 11. Write down the key number. 10. Confirm the covers are locked. KEY Write the key number in the Accessory User’s Information Manual. 12. Check that all parts are installed properly. 13.
