1997 Honda Passport LX DOOR LOCKS - POWER' '1997 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT Isuzu - Power Door Locks DOOR LOCKS - POWER 1997 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT Isuzu - Power Door Locks DESCRIPTION & OPERATION System components consist of a door lock control unit, door lock actuators, door lock switch. Door lock control unit has constant battery voltage. Lock mechanism of all doors (including tailgate) can be activated by using ignition key in left front door, or by using door lock knob. Lock mechanism of all doors can also be activated by locking right front door using ignition key. When lock mechanism is activated, current flows from control unit to actuators for about one second. Disconnect door harness connectors. Connect battery voltage to door side connector terminals and check operation. See Fig. 1 . SYSTEM TESTS LOCK ACTUATOR CIRCUIT TEST 1997 Honda Passport LX DOOR LOCKS - POWER' '1997 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT Isuzu - Power Door Locks 1. Disconnect door harness connectors. Connect battery voltage to door harness connector terminals and check operation. Apply battery voltage to connector terminal No. 6 and ground to terminal No. 8. See Fig. 2 . Doors should lock. 2. Apply battery voltage to connector terminal No. 8 and ground to terminal No. 6. Doors should unlock. If any one actuator does not operate, perform DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR CIRCUIT TEST Connect battery voltage and ground to door lock actuator connector terminals and check operation. If problem is detected in door lock actuator inspection (on vehicle), but no abnormality is found in individual component inspection (off vehicle), check for problem in door harness. TROUBLE SHOOTING DOOR LOCKS DO NOT OPERATE Check for open or faulty fuse (RR DEF fuse) door lock control unit, door lock switch and wiring circuits. LOCKS DO NOT OPERATE FROM DRIVER'S SEAT Check left front door switch, door lock actuator and wiring circuits. LOCKS DO NOT OPERATE FROM PASSENGER'S SEAT Check right front door switch, door lock actuator and wiring circuits. LEFT REAR DOOR LOCK DOES NOT OPERATE Check left rear door lock actuator and wiring circuit. 1997 Honda Passport LX DOOR LOCKS - POWER' '1997 ACCESSORIES & EQUIPMENT Isuzu - Power Door Locks RIGHT FRONT DOOR LOCK DOES NOT OPERATE Check right front door actuator and wiring circuit. RIGHT REAR DOOR LOCK DOES NOT OPERATE Check right rear door lock actuator and wiring circuit. TAILGATE DOES NOT LOCK OR UNLOCK Check tailgate door lock actuator and wiring circuit. REMOVAL & INSTALLATION DOOR LOCK CONTROL UNIT Removal & Installation Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove right side kick panel. Disconnect control unit electrical connector. Remove fixing screw and remove control unit. To install, reverse removal procedure. DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY Removal & Installation Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove door trim panel and waterproof shield. Ensure door glass is closed completely. Remove rear guide rail. Disconnect door lock switch connector and locking links. Remove door lock assembly fixing screws and remove door lock assembly. To install, reverse removal procedure.
