It took a successful V8 motor racing engine, fitted it to a beautifully designed luxury sedan and then proudly presented its creation to the world. The car was called the Quattroporte – and the reception at the Turin Motor Show was rapturous. The excitement was understandable. Until then, along with its formidable motor sport pedigree, Maserati was renowned for its glamorous coupés and spyders. This was new. This was the fastest sedan in the world at that time. The Quattroporte met a particular need for an exclusive group of discerning motorists. Europe’s emerging network of motorways opened up thrilling worlds of possibility when it came to longdistance travel. With this Maserati, they could all be embraced – at high speeds, in spacious comfort and in breathtaking Italian style. Fast forward to the 2019 Maserati Quattroporte and the principles remain much the same. The Quattroporte offers huge, race-bred power from Ferrari-built V8 and V6 petrol engines, along with a mighty V6 turbodiesel. A long wheelbase ensures abundant, elegantly crafted space. Every comfort and convenience is taken care of, from hand-stitched premium Italian Pieno Fiore natural leather to cutting-edge driving assistance systems. And the sculpted styling, undeniably aggressive yet eternally graceful, has all the evocative power you would expect from Maserati. As Maserati continues to shape the future of luxury grand touring, some things clearly never change. A A history of character The TRUE SPIRIT OF MASERATI The Maserati Quattroporte is part of a story that dates back over 100 years. It’s a story of endurance. Of embracing challenge. Of going the distance and winning. And doing it all in audacious Italian style. Maserati officially opened for business in 1914 at number 1 Via de’ Pepoli in Bologna. But the wheels were in motion long before that. In 1900, Rodolfo Maserati’s eldest son Carlo built a single-cylinder engine and fitted it to a bicycle. He then raced it to victory in a punishing, long-distance rally in northern Italy. Carlo was just 17. A short while later, the intrepid youngster designed another engine and fitted it to a wooden car chassis. This, arguably, was the world’s first Maserati vehicle. The Maserati drive to innovate and passion for speed made the transition into elite motor sport inevitable. It was a move that reaped countless rewards on the world stage. Here are just a few of the many historic successes: in 1926, Alfieri Maserati drove the Maserati Tipo 26 to victory in its first ever race – the Targa Florio in the mountains of Sicily. In 1939, Wilbur Shaw won the Indianapolis 500 at the wheel of the Maserati ‘Boyle Special’ 8 CTF at an average speed of over 185 km/h. He repeated this incredible feat the following year, making Maserati the only European manufacturer to win the Indy 500 twice. In the late 1940s, Maserati took a luxurious turn by creating the A6 1500 production grand tourer. This was built in our current home in Modena and featured sensuous Pininfarina coachwork. The convertible A6G Frua Spyder soon followed. Such power and performance had never been so beautifully packaged – opening up new worlds of long-distance possibilities in the process. Since then, all Maserati production models have followed this unique formula, offering race-bred performance, captivating Italian design and all the luxuries and comfort you could want in a prestigious grand tourer. Everything you would be right to expect from the Maserati Quattroporte. 10 E exteriors Formidable EXCLUSIVITY Luxury, scale and space meet phenomenal dynamic capabilities in the Maserati Quattroporte – and it’s all perfectly expressed by its stately yet dynamically intense exterior. The front is dominated by the grille bearing the iconic Trident. Inspired by the Alfieri concept, its deepcut design creates a predatory shark-nose effect. The imposing presence is brought into even sharper focus by stylish new Full-LED Adaptive headlights. Other striking details include triple air vents in the wings, the timeless Saetta logo in the C-pillars and frameless windows. To the rear, quad chrome tailpipes signpost the continent-crossing power. Maserati did not achieve the esteemed reputation it enjoys today by resting on its laurels. Always looking for improvement, new enhancements for the 2019 Quattroporte versions include an updated choice of exterior paint colours and alloy wheels. 14 Sophisticated NEW EXTERIOR SHADES To enhance your paint options as well as the eye-catching allure of Quattroporte, two striking new shades have recently been added to refresh the exterior colour palette: Rosso Potente and Blu Nobile. Each reflects a different side of the Maserati personality, yet both capture the boldness and sophistication for which the Trident is renowned. 16 ROSSO POTENTE TRI-COAT PAINT Inspired by the iconic colour Rosso Magma − launched to commemorate the Maserati centenary − the new Rosso Potente is a statement colour created to celebrate the racing heritage of Italian sports cars. Just one glimpse of this bold hue brings to mind the glamour of circuits such as Monte Carlo and the black and white of the chequered flag sweeping victoriously overhead. As the name would suggest, this is a powerful red; one that overshadows everything else on the road. Rich and captivating, demanding both respect and attention, this dramatic colour is as intoxicating as power itself. BLU NOBILE TRI-COAT PAINT Deep, dark blue with sparkling glass flakes that glisten when exposed to sunlight and enhance the unique design of the Quattroporte. Shimmering like the tips of the waves in the rolling ocean, this is not so much a colour as an enriching visual experience that transforms each time the car flashes past. Ever since the times of the ancient Egyptians, blue has been blessed with noble connotations, standing for royalty and favoured by rulers. This imperious shade of blue reflects these aristocratic traditions and perfectly complements the effortlessly flowing lines of the Quattroporte. 17 I INTERIORS Unique VITALITY The interior of the Maserati Quattroporte is a profoundly engaging place to be – on two levels. On the one hand, there is the awareness and the experience of massive performance. On the other, there’s meticulously crafted comfort, technological convenience and peerless Italian style. Here are just a few signature details. The Trident is seen on the headrests and the centre of the steering wheel. The seats, upper dashboard and armrests are finished in fine leather, while detailing in Radica open-pore wood provides a graceful contrast. The front seats feature 12-way power adjustment and heating, while a memory function reconfigures the driver’s seat, steering wheel and door mirror positions to precise personal settings. There is also an advanced 8.4” infotainment system and, as standard, an Air Quality Sensor. Fresh enhancements for 2019 models include an ergonomic two-lane gear lever, the option of exceptionally soft and durable Pieno Fiore natural leather, along with a new choice of lavish interior trims. In the rear, the Quattroporte is appointed with 60:40 split-folding leather rear seats for three people plus a central armrest offering storage, a USB point and a 12V socket. Two new ashtrays, located in the rear door panel pockets, provide the finishing touch. In short, every personal need is met – and then exceeded. 20 New inTERIOR TRIMS The purposeful ambience of the cabin is another aspect that creates a strong point of difference for Maserati. Two lavish new interior trims add to the appeal of this sanctuary for the driver, and further increase the options for personalisation. HIGH-GLOSS CARBON FIBRE TWILL Developed to emphasise the sporty nature of Maserati, this new trim has a glossy top coat that presents a textured 3D look and adds further exclusivity to the cabin. Every car is completely unique as the carbon pattern is real, ensuring that it will be slightly different every single time. The other beauty of carbon is its extraordinary natural strength, which prevents the trim from marking and protects the integrity of the Quattroporte interior. HIGH-GLOSS ROVERE VENEER As with all other new Maserati trims, this complex veneer took around a year to develop from original concept to finished product. It is a combination of three different woods layered and then crafted by artisans in Italy. The tree bearing the Rovere wood is the symbol of one of the most powerful Italian families, and it is the fine stripes and glossy top coat that give this trim its highly distinctive appearance. G GRAN DUO QuattroporteGran Lusso LUXURY ON ANOTHER LEVEL For those who prefer still more in the way of luxury from their Maserati Quattroporte, there’s the GranLusso trim. Exclusive exterior refinements include a discreet front spoiler, chrome bumper inserts, body-coloured side skirts and GranLusso badges on the wings. There are also impressive 20” Mercurio light alloy wheels with brake calipers in black. 32 Mulberry SILK. BY ERMENEGILDO ZEGNA The Quattroporte GranLusso is crafted for individuals who desire higher levels of luxury. Which is why this model features a remarkably exclusive interior, styled and crafted by Ermenegildo Zegna, one of Italy’s most celebrated fashion designer brands. The finest leathers are combined with Zegna’s mulberry silk inserts on the seats, door panels, headlining and light fixture. The silk is embellished with a handstitched micro-chevron pattern, while the seating features a central silk insert with a macro-chevron weave. All this is available in three combinations of leather and silk with contrast stitching. Other GranLusso cabin refinements include a wood and leather steering wheel, wood trim, power foot pedals, a power rear sunblind, four-zone climate control and heated rear seats. Tan Premium Leather/ Dark Grey Zegna Silk with Light Grey Contrast Stitching Red Premium Leather/ Dark Grey Zegna Silk with Light Grey Contrast Stitching Black Premium Leather/ Dark Grey Zegna Silk with Light Grey Contrast Stitching 35 QuattroporteGranSport SHARPER SPORTING FOCUS Another option with the Maserati Quattroporte is the GranSport trim, which focuses more squarely on dynamic style. This features boldly sculpted angles for the central front and side intakes, and a lower section equipped with aerodynamic splitters. The centre spoiler and side inserts, meanwhile, are finished in Black Piano. The Quattroporte GTS GranSport increases the overt sporting demeanour with a new specific front grille and side skirts. The stretched side profile, with its GranSport badging, is yet more impactful thanks to sweeping side skirts and 21” alloy wheels with red brake calipers. And to the rear, a low-set extractor is again finished in Black Piano. The GranSport is also offered with the optional Exterior Carbon Package. This features carbon finishing for the exterior door mirrors, door handles and B-pillar cover, plus the profile of the front bumper. 38 The ATHLETE WITHIN For even more sporting character inside the Maserati Quattroporte, the GranSport trim offers front and rear Sport seats in leather, firmly sculpted for optimal support during even the most spirited drive. The Sport steering wheel in leather and long gearshift panels in aluminium offer precise control. And high-gloss Black Piano wood trim on the dashboard along with stainless steel Sport pedals complete an inspiring picture. There is also the option of an Interior Carbon Package. This adds lightweight, tactile carbon finishing to the Sport steering wheel, gearshift paddles, doorsills and interior trim. 40 GTS Quattroporte THE POWER OF EXCLUSIVITY GTS stands for GranTurismo Sport, representing a level of performance experienced by only a lucky few. This superiority is clear for all to see on the Quattroporte GTS, thanks to its menacing grille and side skirts. Unique to this version, they create an imposing presence on the road – and are a clear declaration of intent. For although every Maserati road car achieves a perfect balance between performance and luxury, the power is even more pronounced with the GTS. This is due to its formidable 3.8-litre V8 engine, which effortlessly pushes the car from 0-100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds, surging on to a top speed of 310 km/h. And whether you’re accelerating away from a mountain bend or responding to an invitation from a long, open road, you will sense the empowerment that comes from the additional horse power at your disposal. Subtle, yet unmistakable. Quattroporte GTS is available either with the GranSport (as featured) or GranLusso trim options. E ENGINES Power PLAY A central offering of all Maserati vehicles is the ability to cover long distances at dynamic yet refined high speed. With the Quattroporte, that power comes from a choice of two mighty petrol engines – hand-assembled by Ferrari in Maranello – and one diesel. The Quattroporte offers a combination of inspirational, highcapacity power and high-end business-like intelligence. So while it performs like a track-ready supercar, it’s also remarkably efficient. As for the unmistakable Maserati engine note, exhaust system bypass valves ensure that it’s delivered to full effect. With Sport mode active – which also sharpens the vehicle’s handling – the valves open, providing the shortest, highestenergy route for the exhaust gases. The result is optimised engine performance and that resonant, spine-tingling sound. With the diesel, the Maserati Active Sound system underscores the most rousing tones and modulates them according to driving style. And when the driver presses the Sport button, the vocal performance becomes even more dynamically forceful. 275 CV V6 TURBODIESEL The turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 Common Rail fuel injection in the Maserati Quattroporte diesel offers a uniquely rewarding combination of massive power, long-distance refinement and impressive efficiency. Developing class-leading output of 275 CV at 4,000 rpm and a mighty 600 Nm of torque between 2,000 and 2,600 rpm, the engine takes the Quattroporte from zero to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds before going on to top speed of 252 km/h. Combined fuel consumption is between 7.3 and 7.5 litres per 100 km and CO2 emissions are just 191-198 g/km. 48 430 CV V6 The Quattroporte S and S Q4 feature the most powerful version of the V6. Maximum output has been raised to 430 CV and is delivered at 5,750 rpm. Peak torque of 580 Nm is on tap between 2,250 and 4,000 rpm. The Quattroporte S dispatches the sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.0 seconds, while the S Q4 achieves 4.8 seconds. Both share a top speed of 288 km/h. Combined fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions for the S version are 9.6 litres/100 km and 223 g/km. The need-to-know numbers for the S Q4 are 11.9-12.0 litres/100 km and between 275 and 278 g/km. 530 CV V8 The flagship Quattroporte engine is fitted to the GTS version. This is a magnificent 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, developing output of 530 CV at 6,500-6,800 rpm. Torque is equally impressive at 710 Nm, available between 2,250 and 3,500 rpm in overboost mode. The GTS reaches 100 km/h from a standing start in a breathtaking 4.7 seconds and powers to a top speed of 310 km/h. Combined fuel consumption and CO2 emissions are 10.7 litres/100 km and 250 g/km. 49 T TECHNOLOGY Oneto- one ENGAGEMENT The sophisticated ZF eight-speed automatic transmission in the Quattroporte puts a vast world of possibilities in the palm of your hand – and, if tempted, your fingertips. Now with a new two-lane gear lever featuring a dedicated Park button, the transmission uses auto-adaptive software to modify its shift patterns according to driving style, for a truly one-toone driving experience. And when it comes to long, high-speed journeys, the last two gears, seventh and eighth, are calibrated to reduce fuel consumption and further increase comfort. The transmission sends power to the rear wheels of all versions via a standard mechanical Limited-Slip Differential (LSD). This ensures superb traction even in challenging situations. For maximum driver involvement, there are five operating modes, selected using the buttons near the gear lever: What’s more, on petrol-engine versions, overboost is activated. This gives access to peak torque at a considerably reduced engine speed. Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC) adds to the excitement, giving the driver even more dynamic control. MANUAL NORMAL MODE This allows the driver to change gear using the optional paddles behind the steering wheel or the lever on the central tunnel. The system automatically shifts up a gear as the red line approaches, and shifts down in the same way. AUTO NORMAL MODE This pre-set mode provides smooth gearshifts at low revs to maximise ride comfort and minimise fuel consumption. When a sportier style of driving is recognised, upshifts automatically take place at higher engine speeds. MANUAL SPORT MODE In Manual Sport mode, the driver takes full control of the transmission: the overboost function is activated for maximum performance, gearshifts are quicker and sharper, and the engine can be pushed to the limit without the system intervening. The only automatic feature is downshifting if the revs drop too low. AUTO SPORT MODE In this mode, gear changes take place in under 100 milliseconds and occur at higher revs. This guarantees a near-seamless flow of exhilarating high power and a far more sporty driving style. I.C.E. (INCREASED CONTROL & EFFICIENCY) MODE This mode ensures better control in all weather conditions, the quietest and most comfortable engine response, and minimal fuel consumption. 55 A GRIPPING EXPERIENCE The long road ahead, with its twists, turns and occasional surprises, is there for the taking thanks to a host of intelligent systems. Q4 INTELLIGENT ALL-WHEEL DRIVE SYSTEM The Quattroporte S Q4, with its compact and lightweight intelligent all-wheel drive system, is the perfect choice for drivers seeking the rewards of rear-wheel drive with the backup of four-by-four traction. In normal conditions, the Q4 system sends all torque to the rear wheels, for perfectly balanced Maserati driving dynamics and optimal fuel consumption. If traction is lost due to sudden acceleration or low grip on the rear axle, Q4 can alter the torque split from 100 per cent rearwheel drive to 50-50 between the front and rear wheels. It all happens in an imperceptible 150 milliseconds – or less than the blink of an eye. SKYHOOK SUSPENSION This system uses sensors that monitor the movement of each wheel and the car’s body to determine the road conditions and how the car is being driven. It then instantly adjusts the settings of each damper accordingly. The basic setting prioritises ride comfort, but if more dynamic handling is required, a press of the Skyhook Sport Setting, which now has its own dedicated button within the Drive Mode controls, immediately firms up the shock absorbers. 56 ELECTRIC POWER STEERING (EPS) All Quattroporte versions feature EPS as standard, without compromising the responsiveness that is such an important part of our DNA. This system is designed to provide the excellent road-feel expected from Maserati. It is particularly efficient as it is powered directly by the engine when needed, so there is no need for a hydraulic pump. What’s more, with no pressurised fluid under the bonnet, less maintenance is required. The system adapts its weight according to speed, being lighter and easy to turn when manoeuvring in a tight spot, for instance. Conversely it has a weightier, more connected feel at high speeds. Another plus point is integration with active Advanced Driving Assistance Systems such as Highway Assist, Lane Keeping Assist and Active Blind Spot Assist. INTEGRATED VEHICLE CONTROL It's often better to be proactive, rather than reactive – especially when it comes to driving dynamics. Integrated Vehicle Control (IVC) anticipates any issues that could cause instability and counteracts them in the blink of an eye. The system works by selectively reducing engine torque and applying brakeforce to individual wheels as required. Innovation FOR A CONNECTED WORLD A cutting-edge infotainment package for the 2019 Quattroporte puts the focus on intuitive engagement, real-world assistance and adaptable enjoyment. The interior of the Quattroporte is built around a driver interface that is intuitive, uncluttered and simple to use. The instrument cluster features large analogue gauges for the tachometer and speedometer, alongside a 7” TFT display. Major dynamic functions are incorporated into the buttons alongside the gearshift, while other on-board settings can be set using the Maserati Touch Control Plus (MTC+) infotainment system at the centre of the dashboard, or the steering wheel controls for the 7” TFT display. MASERATI TOUCH CONTROL PLUS The 8.4” MTC+ unit takes pride of place at the centre of the Quattroporte dashboard. With very few buttons plus a highly responsive interface, it is designed to help the driver maintain focus on the road ahead and mastering it is intuitive and easy. MTC+ can be operated in three ways: via the multi-touchscreen, the rotary control in the central console, or through voice 58 commands. The system incorporates the car’s radio, Bluetooth® and satellite navigation system (where fitted), along with connections to external sources such as mobile phones, tablets and laptop computers. Using Aux-in, USB sockets or the SD card reader, you can also play music. In addition, MTC+ controls many of the car’s other functions. The state-of-the-art system also features both Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto® mirroring functions. In addition, for iPhone® users, Apple’s Siri® system acts as a personal assistant. WORLD-CLASS AUDIO ENTERTAINMENT The Quattroporte is offered with a choice of two exceptional audio systems. The 900-watt, 10-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Sound system is fitted as standard and offers elevated levels of audio refinement. For those seeking the ultimate acoustics, the optional Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound system features fifteen speakers and a 1,280-watt amplifier. S SAFETY Advanced DRIVING ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS The Quattroporte can be equipped with an impressively comprehensive range of Advanced Driving Assistance Systems. It means even greater peace of mind, whether you’re on an exclusive grand tour or a dash through the city. ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL WITH STOP & GO Adaptive Cruise Control constantly monitors the vehicle ahead, maintaining a pre-set distance. With the Stop & Go function, the car will also adjust to the speed of the vehicle in front until it comes to a complete stop. FORWARD COLLISION WARNING PLUS This, in combination with Adaptive Cruise Control, monitors vehicles ahead and warns if the approach could result in a rearend collision. This is linked to the Advanced Brake Assist system, which provides additional braking during an emergency stop. If the warning does not prompt any action from the driver, the Autonomous Emergency Braking system automatically applies the brakes to reduce the car’s speed. LANE KEEPING ASSIST (LKA) This provides valuable support if the car is about to unintentionally leave a lane. A digital camera behind the rear-view mirror continuously monitors road markings to keep track of the course ahead. The instrument panel display shows the specific status. White lines on either side of the vehicle image indicate that it is safely in lane. One yellow line indicates that the Quattroporte is moving off-centre, right or left. And one flashing yellow line warns of lane departure. At that point, when the Visual & Haptic box is selected in the touchscreen display, Lane Keeping Assist actively steps in with corrective steering torque. Activation of the turn indicator overrides the system. HIGHWAY ASSIST SYSTEM (HAS) This combines the virtues of Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and LKA to make life even easier on motorways, while achieving level 2 semi-autonomous driving. Using information picked up from a digital camera mounted behind the rear-view mirror and a radar system in the front grille, HAS automatically keeps the vehicle centred in its lane, at a pre-selected speed and at a chosen distance from the vehicle ahead. It will even decelerate the Quattroporte through to a standstill as the traffic dictates. To ensure safety, HAS requires the driver to keep his or her hands on the steering wheel at all times. BLIND SPOT ALERT/ACTIVE BLIND SPOT ASSIST The Blind Spot Alert continually assesses the space between the Quattroporte and nearby vehicles by scanning blind spots on either side of the vehicle with radar-based sensors. When a vehicle enters one of these areas, a warning triangle appears in the door mirrors to alert the driver of its presence. If the turning indicator is activated to change lane, a warning is sounded. Active Blind Spot Assist increases the level of protection. Along with a visual alert in the door mirrors and an acoustic warning, it also intervenes with steering torque if the driver starts to change lanes while a vehicle is in the blind spot. REAR CROSS PATH FUNCTION This is a welcome feature that emits a warning when an unseen vehicle is approaching, from the right or left, while reversing out of a parking space (available only in combination with Blind Spot Alert). TRAFFIC SIGN RECOGNITION It can be easy to miss traffic signs sometimes, for all sorts of reasons. This is where Traffic Sign Recognition comes in. It monitors three types of sign: speed limits, temporary speed limits due to conditions such as heavy rain, and no-overtaking zones. It then displays the signs digitally in the instrument panel’s cluster display. The system works with a digital camera mounted behind the rear-view mirror and data from the navigation system. bumpers. Beeping noises increase in frequency as the obstacle approaches, while the TFT display in the centre of the instrument panel shows the car surrounded by symbols which light up in green, yellow or red depending on the remaining distance. In addition, a rear-view camera, fitted close to the boot lock, shows a view of what is behind the car on the Maserati display. Dynamic grid lines illustrate the maximum width of the vehicle and its projected path, based on the steering angle of the front wheels. SURROUND VIEW CAMERA This provides a clear 360° view around the car, helping with parking and highlighting otherwise hidden obstructions. Images are captured by two cameras beneath the door mirrors plus front and rear cameras and shown on the main display screen. FRONT AND REAR PARKING SENSORS AND REVERSING CAMERA To assist with manoeuvring in tight spaces, the Quattroporte comes equipped with parking sensors in the front and rear 65 Comprehensive SAFETY Maserati made safety a top priority when designing the Quattroporte. So not only does it provide mile after mile of high-powered luxury, it also gives you complete peace of mind. THE MASERATI STABILITY PROGRAM Developed in the most extreme test conditions, the Maserati Stability Program (MSP) uses an array of sensors to constantly monitor driving status. It can then deploy a host of safety and performance systems to maintain handling and grip. If, for instance, a skid is detected, MSP selectively reduces engine torque and can activate the brakes with finely varied inputs to restore stability within milliseconds. The MSP system also works in harmony with functions including Anti Slip Regulation (ASR), which reduces wheel spin and improves traction, and engine brake torque control (MSR), which prevents the wheels from locking up when suddenly changing down gears. Additionally, antilock brakes (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) stop the wheels from locking and distribute brakeforce between the front and rear axles. Further support is provided by the Brake Assist System (BAS). This recognises emergency stops and boosts the pressure in the hydraulic circuit to maximise stopping power. A Hill Holder, meanwhile, helps the driver when starting off on an uphill slope. 67 FULL-LED ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHTS WITH GLARE-FREE HIGH-BEAM ASSIST The Quattroporte is fitted with new Full-LED Adaptive headlights that even further sharpen the striking Maserati look, significantly improve visibility and lower energy usage. They also offer remarkably long bulb life. With 15 LEDs operating at full beam, these headlights offer a 200% greater field of vision than traditional halogen lights. Road illumination extends by 55 metres and bulb longevity is roughly twice as long. What’s more, glare-free technology enables drivers to gain the full benefits of their headlights without affecting oncoming vehicles. This uses a digital camera behind the rear-view mirror to detect approaching vehicles. It then directs the light away from the other vehicles, leaving them untroubled by glare. The surrounding areas, meanwhile, remain safely and effectively lit with neardaylight quality illumination. The headlights also feature the Adaptive Driving Beam (ADB). This automatically adjusts the width and depth of the headlight beams, giving maximum lighting effectiveness and optimal safety. This is made possible by a camera mounted in the rear-view mirror and sensors that monitor several different parameters, including the steering wheel position, the car’s speed and the way it is being driven. ADB comes on automatically when driving in bad weather, on motorways or in town. AIRBAGS AND ACTIVE HEADRESTS The Quattroporte is equipped with six airbags.
